Frequency light therapy wavelengths and frequencies

How Frequency Light Therapy Works

What makes frequency-enhanced light therapy different from regular light?+

Advanced frequency light therapy systems do more than emit light. They can pulse the light at specific frequencies, ranging from 1 Hz to 10,000 Hz, so each session can be customized toward particular wellness goals. The body responds not only to the wavelength (color) of light, but also to the rhythm or pulse at which it is delivered.

What wellness goals can frequency light therapy support?+

By combining targeted wavelengths with programmable frequencies, sessions are designed to support relaxation, recovery, circulation, energy balance, stress management, skin health, athletic recovery, and many other personal wellness objectives.

What does the research say about light therapy?+

Research in photobiomodulation (PBM) and light-based therapy has explored how specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light can influence cellular activity, support healthy inflammatory responses, encourage circulation, and assist natural recovery. Studies have also examined blue light for skin applications and green light for migraine-related and comfort-focused support.

Is light therapy used outside of the United States?+

Yes. Light-based therapies are being researched and utilized throughout the world, including parts of Japan, Asia, Europe, and North America, where photobiomodulation technologies continue to gain attention in wellness, rehabilitation, sports recovery, and clinical research settings.

How does Water & Light for Health use frequency light therapy?+

We use customizable wavelength and frequency combinations to create wellness-focused sessions designed to help individuals pursue their personal health, recovery, performance, and relaxation goals through the power of light.

  • 450nm Blue

Blue light. A shorter visible wavelength, used in protocols that target the skin's surface and superficial cellular function. Research interest includes circadian-rhythm cueing during daytime exposure.

  • 525nm Green

Green light. A mid-range visible wavelength often used in skin-focused programs. Research interest includes capillary response and superficial pigment regulation.

  • 660nm Red

Red light. The most-studied wavelength in photobiomodulation. Reaches the upper layers of skin and is widely used in protocols around surface tissue and muscle recovery support.

  • 850nm Near-Infrared

Near-infrared. Beyond visible light. Penetrates deeper than red light and is commonly used in protocols targeting joints, muscles, and deeper tissue support.
